Red Tail Live! is a National entertainment event promotion company, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. The company began life as 35 Concerts, which had as its initial focus the cities and venues centered along Interstate 35 between Minneapolis and San Antonio, but soon found itself working in cities from California to the Mid-Atlantic. After five years of operations, the company merged with its parent, Red Tail Entertainment, and now operates under the Red Tail banner as Red Tail Live!
In the early days, the company concentrated almost exclusively on music concerts featuring heritage artists with 20+ year concert and recording careers including Tony Bennett, Merle Haggard, REO Speedwagon, Martina McBride, The Beach Boys, and Harry Connick, Jr. Today, the company has expanded into a large variety of shows including family-friendly titles like PJ Masks, The Wild Kratts, The Illusionists, and Disney Jr. Dance Party, some non-traditional attractions like Brain Candy Live and Dan & Phil Interactive Introverts, and Broadway Musicals like The Wizard of Oz, Stomp! Cinderella, Cirque Dreams Holidaze, and Spamalot.
35 Concerts was founded by Texas based entrepreneur Phil Drayer, and industry veteran Marc Engel in 2013 in Fort Worth. Mr. Drayer’s interest in family attractions lead him to, establish Red Tail Entertainment, a producer of a wide range of spectacular live shows including the Broadway hit, A Night with Janis Joplin whose title performer, Mary Bridget Davies was honored with a Tony Award Nomination. He is the lead producer for the interactive family show Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live which just completed a 150-city tour of the US and Canada, and he is a member of the producing team of the National tour of Scooby Doo Live! Musical Mysteries.
Mr. Drayer has been a key player in the high technology industry for over thirty years and built two publicly traded companies. He was named Top CEO by Morgan Stanley Ventures in Silicon Valley in 2000, and his second company was named one of Forbes Top 50 Best Run Companies in the U.S. Mr. Drayer’s philanthropic endeavors include seven years as an executive board member of the Dallas Symphony, and served for a time as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer, and twelve years of service on the Lamar University Foundation and the Engineering Advisory Council. The electrical engineering department at Lamar University bears his name. Mr. and Mrs. Drayer were key in the establishment of the Karen C. Drayer Wild Life Health Center at the University of California, Davis, which has the number one Veterinary School in the US.
Marc Engel is a venue management and live entertainment industry veteran with over 30 years’ experience in the management and programming of theatres and performing arts centers. His career includes high profile management assignments in internationally recognized venues like Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, and the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach. Over the last 15 years, Mr. Engel has promoted concerts in theatres and arenas in over 75 US Cities. As President of Red Tail Live! Marc has assembled a team of highly experienced industry professionals to manage booking, marketing and production, and to coordinate the various aspects of live entertainment presentation in the US and in recent months, two Canadian provinces.
Kelsey Young, Executive Vice-President & Talent Buyer for the Eastern US from Texas to Florida, and north to Vermont, manages the day to day entertainment promotion activity and talent acquisition for Red Tail Live’s regional operations. A graduate of Texas Christian University, Kelsey has been instrumental in the execution of the company’s expansion strategy from music to Broadway.
The team expects to further expand its operations into the Pacific Northwest, and Canada in the coming years.
